As most of you know we moved back to Santa Cruz about a month and a half ago. Shortly after we arrived we met with our realtor to get the lay of the land and find out what was on the market in our price range. In typical Renda style we looked at 2 houses and stopped the search at #3. It was a house I had been tracking over the last year listed for as much as $2 million at one point. The house had just gone into foreclosure and was being offered for almost nothing. Of course we were in no financial position to buy a house after earning almost no income for the last 3 years but knew we had to try. We put our offer into the hat with 8 others and went back and forth for a few weeks. When all was said and done our offer was excepted. We bought the house as is and as you can see we are in for a BIG adventure! We have to give HUGE kudos to our amazing mortgage brokers (Kevin & Doug Cooper) and a few great friends (thanks Kevin and Helene). I still don't quite understand how we qualified for a loan and how they pulled this together in 30 days!!! (Yes, we would be happy to give you their contact information)
